Is it an original Volkswagen steering wheel?

No. It is an aftermarket carbon fiber and leather steering wheel, designed to be fitted to the Golf 7 and 7.5 GTI, GTD, GTE and R with the original mountings.

Does it include the airbag?

No. The original airbag from your car is reused, as well as the multifunction buttons and DSG shift paddles.

Can I continue using the DSG paddles and steering wheel buttons?

Yes. The steering wheel has the same mounting points as the stock one, so the original paddles and buttons mount without adapters.

Is it suitable for a 2014 Golf 7 and a 2019 Golf 7.5?

Yes. The steering wheel structure is the same in the Golf 7 and the Golf 7.5 in the GTI, GTD, GTE and R versions, between 2013 and 2020.

Is it real carbon fiber or vinyl?

It is real carbon fiber with twill weave and glossy varnish finish. It does not use vinyl or hydro-printing.

Does it work with a heated steering wheel?

This steering wheel does not include a heating resistor. If your car has one, the heated steering wheel function will no longer be available.

Can I install it myself?

If you have experience with airbags, yes. If not, we recommend a workshop: the driver's airbag requires following the manufacturer's safety procedure.

Do I need to pass the ITV after installing it?

The regulations on steering wheel replacement vary by country. Consult your ITV station or a conversion engineer before installation.
